| FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE April 1, 2005
New Editor for Progress magazine.
Halifax, N.S. - Neville Gilfoy, president & publisher
of Progress magazine is pleased to announce a change
in the senior editorial position at Progress Corp.
Editor David Holt is leaving the position he founded
in 1994, and has been replaced by colleague Pamela
Scott-Crace, who also retains the position of Associate
Publisher, Content.
"Ms. Scott-Crace is well-known to the readers
and advertisers of Progress magazine, and I’m
excited that her familiarity with the magazine’s
positioning will build on Mr. Holt’s tradition
of insightful coverage of the region’s business
community," says Mr. Gilfoy.
Mr. Holt continues his association with Progress
Corp. as the contract editor of Progress Halifax magazine,
and as a consultant on editorial issues for Progress
Corp.
"This is what succession planning is all about,"
says Ms. Scott-Crace. "We preach it in our magazine,
and now we’re living it. I’ve had the
good fortune to work closely with David Holt for the
past ten years. I will build on that experience to
begin moving the magazine into its next phase. I see
us moving forward with equal measures of maturity,
earned under Holt’s leadership and energy, as
we tap into the mindset of a new generation of business
leaders that is emerging across this region and the
northeastern U.S."
Progress is the region’s leading business magazine.
Its focus is the formation, retention and repatriation
of capital; the retention and attraction of highly
qualified, well educated, motivated and innovative
people; the determination and development of the Atlantica
region.
As departing editor, Holt stated "over the past
12 years, the magazine has evolved into one of the
most respected business publications in the country.
The Progress brand has become synonymous with success,
rejuvenation, and hope. This is something we, our
readers and our advertisers can be proud of!"
Mr. Holt has launched a new company - Context Consulting
- to provide consulting services in strategy, communication,
and facilitation. "In times of rapid change,"
says Holt; "your greatest opportunities and biggest
threats are rarely directly in front of you."Gilfoy
adds, "I believe David will continue his successes,
started at Progress, and bring his vision, extraordinary
thinking and exceptional word craft to a larger client
base."
Progress magazine is Atlantic Canada’s
best-read business magazine, reaching more than 100,000
readers per issue. The magazine is published 10 times
a year and is the flagship publication of the Halifax-based
